  22.      This function returns the current event on the transport endpoint
  23.      specified by _ffff_dddd.  This function enables a transport provider to notify a
  24.      transport user of an asynchronous event when the user is issuing
  25.      functions in synchronous mode.  Certain events require immediate
  26.      notification of the user and are indicated by a specific error, _TTTT_LLLL_OOOO_OOOO_KKKK, on
  27.      the current or next function to be executed.
  28.
  29.      This function also enables a transport user to poll a transport endpoint
  30.      periodically for asynchronous events.
  31.
  32.      On failure, _tttt______eeee_rrrr_rrrr_nnnn_oooo may be set to one of the following:

  34.      _TTTT_BBBB_AAAA_DDDD_FFFF          The specified file descriptor does not refer to a
  35.                     transport endpoint.
  36.
  37.      _TTTT_SSSS_YYYY_SSSS_EEEE_RRRR_RRRR        A system error has occurred during execution of this
  38.                     function.
  39.
  40.      _TTTT_PPPP_RRRR_OOOO_TTTT_OOOO         If ______XXXX_OOOO_PPPP_EEEE_NNNN______SSSS_OOOO_UUUU_RRRR_CCCC_EEEE is defined, then this error indicates
  41.                     that a communication problem has been detected between XTI
  42.                     and the transport provider for which there is no other
  43.                     suitable XTI (_tttt______eeee_rrrr_rrrr_nnnn_oooo).
